Cavalli's

Matauri Bay and the Cavallis 4 to 9 November
Bit of a rainy rest day at Aroha after the Bay of Islands circuit, then off up to check out more massive fishing spots as the BOI was a bit patchy.
Soon ensconsed at Matauri Bay and off out around Motukawanui to check prospects .

Got to this area when suddenly a gentle take barely perceptable starts swimming off so I pay out line wait a bit then Whack set the hook as I feel it suddenly realise this little morsel has a tickle in it's tail ]:)
Wahooo it's off and feeling good but the animated jiggling on the kayak must have got it's mates turned on too and yup the trailing rod is going west at a good rate of knots also :?:
Double whammy -You wouldn't read about it would you -this is starting to happen regularly but awwh what the hey! This is where the fun begins
Soon duking it out with a good Norf Snap with attitude and when he was dealt to quickly as I dared then found the other rod still connected so straight into that as well--

The bigger ones went 11, 14,& 15 lbs , so off back to camp sitting low in the water and plenty of ballast for the choppy paddle back.
